The law does not wait for law school. We are pleased to announce the publication of Volume I, Issue I of the Undergraduate Law Review at the University of Pittsburgh — the first issue in our journal’s history. Established in September 2025, the ULR at Pitt was founded to provide undergraduate scholars with a rigorous platform to engage with legal doctrine, develop their analytical voices, and contribute meaningfully to contemporary legal discourse. This inaugural issue features four original articles examining France’s environmental cost decree for ultra-fast fashion, the constitutional implications of City of Grants Pass v. Johnson, the fiscal dimensions of capital punishment in Pennsylvania, and equal protection questions raised by United States v. Skrmetti. It also showcases the winning essays from our inaugural High School Essay Competition on birthright citizenship and the Fourteenth Amendment. We invite you to read, engage, and join a growing community of undergraduate legal scholars. The full issue is available now.
